Department Application Payment

Please pay the $25 non-refundable Department Application fee before continuing. Click the red button to open a new tab to the East Bay Cashnet payment portal. After paying the Department Application fee, please upload a copy of the emailed receipt below.

Please provide a brief statement of purpose.  You may wish to include your reasons for choosing this program, how your academic preparation will help you to succeed in the program, and your professional career goals.

Transcripts


After University Application through Cal State Apply is submitted, request official final transcripts from all colleges and universities attended to be sent to Cal State East Bay's Office of Admission. This includes all institutions before and after your bachelor's degree.


Electronic transcripts can be ordered to be sent to electronictranscripts@csueastbay.edu directly from the institution.


If your college/university does not provide electronic transcripts, official transcripts can be sent by mail to:

For your Department Application:  Applicants with international transcripts with a foreign degree must provide an official evaluation of that coursework by a CTC approved agency.   FOREIGN TRANSCRIPT EVALUATION.


Do not submit transcripts until after you have the submitted University Application through Cal State Apply.


Letter of Recommendation Forms (3)


You will need to submit/upload three (3) letters of recommendation.  Letters should come from individuals who have observed you working with children.  You may submit letters of recommendation used to apply to your teaching credential program.

 

Copy of valid Multiple Subject or Single Subject Credential


A copy of a valid Multiple Subject or Single Subject Credential (access from CTC website).

    

Bachelor Degree Verification


To verify your Bachelor Degree for the Department Application. Please upload a copy of your unofficial Bachelor degree transcript or foreign transcript evaluation.

 


Please note that the University Admissions Office requires official transcripts from ALL colleges/university attended AFTER you submit your University Application through Cal State Apply and get your NET ID.

 

Change of Graduate Objective


Your applicant status indicates you must also submit the University Change of Graduate Objective Form.


Continuing students may request a change of graduate objective after their first term of attendance if they are in one of the following academic categories:


1.  You are a continuing CSUEB post-baccalaureate student who wishes   to   change your degree or credential program.


2.  You are a CSUEB master's degree recipient who wishes to continue into a new MA/Credential program the following term.


3.  You are a dual master's degree applicant.

How to Apply


Applicants with less than 3 years of experience may be admitted to the program, however, they will not be able to APPLY for the RLAA until they have earned 3 years of verified teaching experience under a Preliminary or Clear Teaching Credential (interning or student teaching does not count).
